Over the last three years, thieves have been targeting cars with alloy wheels in Kenilworth in Warwickshire. The thieves have taken around 120 sets of alloy wheels, some of which had cost nearly £1000. The thieves jack up the cars and remove the wheels – some of the thefts have even been from people’s driveways.
The police are recommending that if your car has alloy wheels, to purchase locking wheel nuts which prevent the wheel from being removed and then store the key to the wheel nuts in a safe place away from the car. McGuard alloy wheel security locking nuts can be purchased from topgear and they come in a variety of sizes depending on the car wheel size.

One of the “holy grails” of carbon fiber application is car wheels. How badly would auto OEMs love to lose those heavy steel wheels? The question always has been: Can a carbon fiber wheel meet all of the required performance specs at an affordable price? The short answer is, yes but not yet. Dymag Racing UK (Chippenham, U.K.) has developed a carbon fiber wheel that meets or exceeds many of the performance requirements of a car wheel, but price, for now, leaves this product in the high-performance category. The future, however, looks bright.

At Top Gear we stock a wide range of Alloy Wheels for all makes and models of cars, we fit them and provide everything you need to maintain them - here are a few guidelines covering why you might want Alloy Wheels, how to care for them, some basic terms explained and our services outlined.
Benefits
There are numerous benefits to fitting alloy wheels to your car. For a start they are cast from aluminium with means they are light-weight, and more attractive than regular wheels. They are great at dissipating brake heat and small amounts of more rigid metals the presence of which helps prevent cracks propagating. They are also available in standardised sizes, to fit almost every car, and therefore available at very competitive prices here at Top Gear.
