Ford Focus Coupe-Cabriolet
Posted on March 29, 2007 @ 2:22 pmWith the end of production of the Ford StreetKa in 2005 and the Escort Convertible in 1997 Ford have not had a presence in the growing coupe-cabriolet market.
All that has now been remedied with the two-door, four-seat, Ford Focus Coupe-Cabriolet which is now in dealer showrooms.
Sales officially started at the beginning of this year with some 600 units already with customers but it is only now that he models are becoming readily available in time for Summer… Read the rest of this article at MotorTorque here)

I’ve order the CC3 version three weeks ago, I think there might be problem with the production of this car. As the dealer has told me 12 weeks to delivery and Ford has told me 16 to 20 weeks. If this is the case Summers gone before you get the car. I’ve even had connect from someone else that there is a problem with the car and even though he ordered his in Feb. he’s not due to get it until Sept.
Having said that they are nicer to look at in the flesh (so to speak) and I think an even better drive than the standard Focus.
Worth waiting for but maybe not at the expence of Summer.

May 15th, 2007 at 1:11 pm
I was told by Fords on 11th May 2007 (Ford Information Services) that the cars were re-called in February due to a problem with the roof mechanism. Ford are obvioulsy trying to keep this quiet, my internet dealer claimed to have only just been told about this. I ordered a CC3 in mid Feb, still waiting!
May 18th, 2007 at 2:09 pm
I ordered my Focus CC3 in Feb 07 and was told it would be a month wait, however the salesperson arranged for me to have the showroom model. one week later on 1 march i drove it out of the showroom. its a fabulous car (owned 6 focus’s previously) the roof mechanism has no problems and i get stopped wherever i go by other driver’s. best car i have owned and puts the ST in the shade by miles.

I ordered my CC2 in January, delivery dates have been postponed 3 times now. I have been told that the car has now been built and the dealer is waiting for the car to be delivered from Italy. So far it has been a 16 week wait.
May 21st, 2007 at 12:30 pm
I ordered my CC3 at the start of feb and was told that car would start to be built at the end of feb. Then I was told end of march. Then end of April. My latest date is May 22rd but since that is tomorrow and they have not phoned my yet. Im guessin ill just have to carry on waiting. This is jsut getting silly though. If the car is not ready then dont release it. And if you do then at least tell people that there is an issue and dont try to cover it up.
May 23rd, 2007 at 6:42 am
Same boat here.
Ordered my CC3 on the 4th of feb. was told end of march but that came and went with the roof issue. then given the dates 16/05 for production, 02/06 for delivery. 16th comes and Ive phoned them to be told that production has been extended to 20 days in plant cos the cars are so custom. delivery now expected end of june/begining of july. great! :(

I went to see the new Focus Convertible over the Bank Holiday weekend. I was glad to see that the dealer had two in the court to look at, but horrified to see that both had massive leaks inside the car (front and back on both sides)!!! Upon asking directly if all were leaking, staff admitted that there is currently a problem with sealing the roof in wet weather. One salesman drove only a few miles from home that day and his right arms was absolutely soaked! We could not sit in the demo car, as the seats were too wet and the car completely steamed up. Looks like Ford will need to do some re-design…
May 29th, 2007 at 2:16 pm
same here as well. ordered cc2 on 3/2/07 keeps getting fobed off.I was told i would be getting it by the end of march, still waiting
May 30th, 2007 at 6:08 pm
Hoory cc3 with dealer at long last due to collect on sat but was some what supprised to find the car was actually built in sept of 06 but was not released from factory until 9-5-07 Ford have installed new roof motors as the previous ones where apparently the cause of the problem still it is finally here had to drive the dealership mad by constant calls told them was not too pleased with Fords as it has taken longer to get a car that has been built 9 months than it took to build a st220 with loads of spec modifications which only took 9 weeks to be built and delivered
June 1st, 2007 at 2:04 pm
Ordered my CC3 today - dealer says there’s a bit of a backlog so delivery August or September…
June 1st, 2007 at 5:27 pm
I have just been told by Ford’s that my cc2 has arrived in England after being ordered in January. BUT I will not be getting the car for 4-6 weeks (if I’m lucky) because all the cars are being sent to Dagenham to have quality checks on the roof
June 5th, 2007 at 9:38 pm
I ordered my CC2 on the 16th Jan and have the dubious honour of having the oldest outstanding order at my internet dealer!!! Told on the 10th May that they were building it in May for a June delivery - but no further news as yet. The only info that I’ve been given is that the delay is due to the speed that the roof opens and closes - should be 23 seconds rather than 29 seconds.
June 7th, 2007 at 12:00 pm
Well here’s some info i received my lovely new car 4 weeks ago I had it a week when the roof started to leak in various places (FORD KNEW ABOUT THIS FAULT WHEN I BOUGHT MY CAR) the garage has now had it for 3 weeks telling me it would take 4/6 weeks to fix. Ford have contacted me to tell me it will now be august/september when it will be fixed because they don’t know how to fix it. The new registrations will be out then and I will have owned the car for 5 months with one week of driving. Ford are now not letting any of the cars go out of the garages till this fault is sorted so I’m left high and dry with no car and bank loan to pay.
June 7th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
Ordered cc3 diesel on 13th Jan was told delivery on 28th March, given so many excuses by garage why it had not arrived, including that the transporter had broken down on its way to garage.
Well it did arrive on 31st May and at 2.30pm advised we could collect at 6pm that same night,at 2.45 we were contacted again by the garage to say we could not collect it as car details entered onto their computer Ford had put something called a PPI on the car to say it could not be released
It has been sitting at the garage ever since waiting for some A frame rubber that are supposed to have been already dispatched from Germany
June 7th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Had my cc3 five weeks now fantastic car except there is a problem with a leaky roof ford have stopped all sales of these cars until problem is fixed.ford have been helpful with this problem it will be fixed so don`t let this problem put you off fantastic car fantastic drive.
June 8th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
Same story, am absolutely fuming at Fords lack of information on this. Ordered my CC3 at the beginning of Feb, for original delivery mid April. Have been promised so many deliveries. Most recently I was told I would get it last week, then next week. I have just been advised today “problems on the roof system, not on this car but in general. It is in the coutry but stuck in the pre delivery checking queue at Dagenham so will be the week starting 25th June”… I don’t believe anything they tell me anymore. I tried to cancel this weeks ago to get the ASTR twin top that I can get within a week but told I had to pay the finance company a 5% fee. I have no confidence they are telling me the truth as I have heard it so many times before. I don’t see how Ford can be having so many problems, hardly like a hard top roof is new technology out there…. Very dissapointing from Ford
June 11th, 2007 at 1:06 pm
Just had a further update from Ford - apparantly they still have not resolved the roof problem, and do not have a release date for the model! Ford are obviously trying to keep this quite, and in doing so are keeping their customers in the dark. I am now considering cancelling the order as it it is liley to be another 10/12 weeks after the release date is announced!
June 11th, 2007 at 5:19 pm
I have had my Ford Focus cc3 since April 2007 and since day 1 there have been problems with the roof, in that when it is up there is the most awful creaking and rattling noise. The staff in the service centre cannot resolve it and are waiting for Ford to get back to them. I called Ford Customer Service again today and told that Ford knew of problems but will not put a date out there for when they will fix the problems and so I have asked for my query to be escalated with a view to getting my money back. I really like the car but the noise is intolerable……
June 11th, 2007 at 10:12 pm
Ordered the CC3 on 2nd Jan, picked it up 28th April. First rain 6th of May, had towels all over the car since. I’ve been told all sorts of junk by the dealer and its been back to them ‘to be fixed’, just like the others they have sold. All are still leaking! Phoning Ford was as bad as the water torture, you know, on hold for 25 minutes before the line went dead. Told today that Ford have a team of engineers working on the problem, pity they didn’t think of this during design and manufacture like other car companies do.
Can anyone explain their legal responsibilities if I insist on a full refund?
June 12th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
I went into my local dealer this week, on Sunday and was told there was a backlog on the orders, but that he could sell me one out of the showroom. Took it for a test drive, fantastic car.
Agreed a deal, signed the paper work started to get insurance sorted, then had a call today that Ford had sent them a letter (last Wednesday and he hadn’t read it all !) that they were not allowed to sell any cars even those on the forecourt. Apparently Ford blocked the dealership when they tried to register the car and tax it. No information on timescale, no detail but mumbling something about the roof….
Now I’m not sure what to do they have my deposit, though at least I haven’t signed any finance deal yet…
June 13th, 2007 at 4:45 pm
I ordered my Ford Focus CC3 on 8th. March 2007. Estimated delivery was originally second week of June. No contact from Ford dealer so I contacted them. Was told there was a manufacturing problem and that there would be a delay. I asked did they mean a delay of 1 week, 1 month, 2 months but they didn’t have any idea. So I am completely in the dark. What a really poor service from Ford. I am very worried because I am putting my car in as part-exchange. The price was offered to me 3 months ago, (at the time I ordered the CC3), and was only valid for 3 months. I will be extremely annoyed if they offer me less for my old car once my new car is ready as the delay is their fault not mine. I did and ask someone at Ford Information Service and they are getting back to me on the matter as they weren’t sure of what will happen. I can assure them if they do offer me less I will cancel my order and take my money elsewhere.
June 13th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
Hi Have ordered my focus CC3 a month ago. Dealer been upfront with me about delivery possibly September. However reading all these comments has put me off massively. I’ve contacted ford and a ’surly customer service advisor’ who deemed to tell me he’s the ‘expert’ dealing with all info regarding the focusCC, assured me that this is all rubbish? Sounds like he’s talking rubbish don’t you think. What rights do I have to get deposit back if this problem continues? Does anyone know? I love the look of the car but at £20k I want it to be right or go choose a manufacturer who isn’t having quite so many problems.
June 16th, 2007 at 2:10 pm
After waiting 5 months I have just cancelled my order. My dealer has now said that Ford are providing them with no information and the car might not be available until after the summer. My car has been sat in a car park in Southampton for weeks, presumably outside in the pouring rain with a leaking roof. I have e-mailed and written to Ford but they can’t be bothered to reply, so I have decided to cut my losses and buy something else.
June 17th, 2007 at 11:22 am
CC3 ordered on the 2nd of April told mid June delivery. Now told end of August. We are incontact with a special team that Ford have set up to keep people up to date with what is happening with these cars. Unfortunately team like car unreliable, they don’t return your calls when they say they will and the only time you get an update is when you ring them. WHEN ARE FORD GOING TO PROVIDE LONG STANDING CUSTOMERS (this will be the 5th brand new Ford we have brought)WITH SOME CONCRETE ANSWERS. TO SAY WE ARE VERY DISAPOINTED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
June 18th, 2007 at 1:28 am
work for visteon (ford parts spin-off)have found a focus cc3,but it is still sitting outside in the dealers car park waiting for the roof solution, how long has thisbeengoing on for as somebody i work with has one and hers doesnt leak was this a faulty production batch, not very good when you have a contract with a dealer and have paid a deposit, luckily i have a peugeot 307cc which is fine and doesnt leak, but still annoying as new registration will be here soon if they dont hurry up
June 18th, 2007 at 11:32 am
I ordered my cc3 on 13/01/07 for delivery on 01/03 but that date has been put back 6 times and I have just been told the delivery date of 20/06 I was given has been put back another 4 weeks. Customer service from my dealer has been appalling, they said they would keep me informed, but each time it has been up to me to chase them. Ford customer service department just said they weren’t aware of any issues and I would have to speak to my dealer.
June 18th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
Ordered my cc2 in March, got it in April, had it 4 weeks (it didn’t rain in that time) got wet when it did rain and now the car has been back at the dealers for 6 weeks while they try to sort out the leaking roof problem. PR disaster for ford! Fair do’s they have given me a hire car and customer services have been as helpful as they can but am still paying finance company for a car that I wanted for the summer and havn’t got at all. Hope ford have some good “good will gestures” to dish out after this disaster.
June 19th, 2007 at 4:06 pm
Well I ordered my CC3 in January 2007, and am still waiting for it. It has been built, and is apparently now in the country, but my friend who works at Fords has just sent me details about a hold Fords have put on the CC’s. Reads as follows :-
Subject: Focus Coupe Cabriolet -Roof Seal Integrity - SALES HOLD — Update Prior to Sale Special Attention: The Recall Co-ordinator should have overall responsibility for implementing this action within your Dealership and Retail Dealer(s).Introduction Urgent engineering investigations are being conducted in response to concerns raised on the integrity of the roof seals against water ingress. Until these investigations are completed affected vehicles MUST be HELD and NOT released to a customer. Service Instructions Reimbursement procedures and details of any action for vehicles already with customers will be communicated as soon as it is available.Vehicles Affected Affected vehicles will be identified on OASIS.Model/Variant Assembly Plant Affected Build Periods (inclusive dates)

*UPDATE*
Ford have agreed to buy my car off me today (20/06/07) at the originally agreed price and I have been given a FREE hire car to drive around in until my new Focus CC is ready!
June 20th, 2007 at 11:22 am
The story so far!ordered 31st Dec,6 months later am still waiting for cc.1st there was a leaking roof then a slow roof motor then a back log in shipping them from Italy so it went to cologne for shipping to ease the congestion.
It is apparantly in this country now but there is yet more leaks to the roof and have now not even got a fix date! When will my nightmare end.
my buddy at work Bob has ordered a VW eos last month and i will not be happy if he gets his before me. HELP
June 22nd, 2007 at 2:18 am
My wife and I ordered our Focus CC3 on 3rd March having been given a 10 week lead time. i.e. middle of May delivery. Since then we have been given a further 4 delivery dates the latest, according to the dealers intranet, being 14th July. In my case I cannot blame the dfealership too much as thay have tried to help. I contacted Ford Information Services. They were no help at all,,continually referring back to dealer despite me stating that FORD manufactured the car. Stll the dealer has loaned me a car until delivery so there must be some degree of responsibilty…we will see.
June 23rd, 2007 at 8:37 am
Ordered mine in February - no news when i might get it. The only information i get is through this website. This has been very badly handled by Ford.
June 23rd, 2007 at 11:05 am
The story so far ! ordered cc on the 31st Dec and given a Feb delivery date which quickly turned into March 1st as there were probs with a leak roof seal.A further delay occured as the roof motors were to slow.Afer this they struggled to ship the amount of cars the normal route so some were going to take the Cologne route to ease congestion at the port. my car is apparantly in the country now but yet another leak has occured and as yet no fix date has been given to me. My buddy at work Bob ordered a VW eos in April and if he gets his car before me i will not be happy at all HELP !
p.s my dealer Kempster Ford has been as good as gold i just wish i could say the same about the FORD cc LAUNCH TEAM
June 23rd, 2007 at 5:36 pm
Yes I have a CC3 and Yes the roof leaks! Surprise Surprise!Ford Customer Care has been terrible and I am still none the wiser as to when my car will be fixed, and thats if the fix works. I told them that I want a replacment car….No chance! I have contacted Watch Dog and I urge as many people as possible to do so.
Belive me if you are still waiting for your car because they are not releasing them until the problem is solved you are in a far better situation.
CONTACT WATCH DOG we may all get some much needed help.
June 23rd, 2007 at 5:49 pm
I have a CC3 and the roof leaks. Ford Customer Services has been terrible. No idea when the fix will be and I have no confidence in the fact it will actually work!
I have now run out of patience with them and have been in contact with Watch Dog, and I urge as many people as possible to do the same.
If you are still waiting for your car be assured you are in a far better position than having a car with a leaking roof, at least you should receive your car in the correct condition.
June 24th, 2007 at 9:30 pm
Lucky Me!…Got my CC3 just 7 days after ordering in May and the dealer even swapped the wheels over from the CC2 model. Yes the roof leaks, yes its inconvenient but the car is otherwise superb & everyone loves it. After reporting the fault to my Ford dealer, fords customer service have been in touch & have been quite honest and will call me when the fix is ready. Compensation and a courtesy car are available.
I am lucky & i feel for those who have been left without a car. Ford have left a few slip through the net but appear to be taking the right action now. This exclusivity keeps interest and curiosity in my car high and keeps the heads turning.
The car is worth waiting for.
June 25th, 2007 at 8:39 am
This is becoming a joke!
I had a build date of my car in mid May with a delivery date if 16-06-07. I contacted the deal (dagenham motors) at the end of May to get an update, he confirmed to me that the car was in the country he also phone me a couple of days later to ask me to come in and sign the paperwork as it was ‘in stock’. Unfortunatly I was going away for the week and I couldn’t get in before the Saturday. However I worked it out and I could be there Friday afternoon, so I phoned on the Thursday just to confirm what paperwork I needed to bring. He then phoned me back only to tell me that it wasn’t my car at all! It was a identical car to mine except the for order no. I ask to speak the manager, he again phoned me back and now the colour had changed as well and the delivery was now the 23-06-07. Just phoned recently and now Fords have STOPPED PRODUCTION to fix the leaking roof problem. The Salesmen has left the company and they cannot give me a date of delivery, they cannot even tell if the car has even been built. This is very, very poor from Ford and the Dagenham Motors, as my car has gone from being ‘in stock’ to not even being built in the space of a week. I think my car was sold to someone else, also I have had to phone them for information rather then them informing me. What on earth do they think I’m buying a nearly 20,000 pound car or a second hand sofa.
June 25th, 2007 at 3:29 pm
I just want to reiterate, Ford cistomer service have been great, I have a hire car and even though I am going on holiday on Saturday, they are quite happy for hire car to stay in Airport Parking for 2 weeks. The car is worth waiting for as it is a head turner. All I want is my car back, clean without rusty discs and a some compensation for the inconvenience and the embarrasement of me telling everyone what a great car it is prior to this problem
June 25th, 2007 at 5:53 pm
Have finally given up after over 5 months waiting for news on delivery. Went into Renault showroom on Saturday, test drove a new megane cc dynamique S and hopefully collecting it on friday. Very sad not to have the Ford, but feel now couldn’t trust that they can fix the problem and be sure of future reliability.
June 25th, 2007 at 10:14 pm
An update from my earlier post.
My dealer have been very good. They said that if I had a sale for my existing car then they would loan me a car so I didn’t lose the sale (nor will they I guess!). Apparently Ford aren’t paying and the dealer are footing the bill for the loan car.
Ford have been no help, can’t tell me anything. The dealer have insisted they believe there isn’t a fault with my car. They have sold others that were from a recent delivery batch to them and apparently have no problems.
Given the recent weather I’d be very interested in hearing anyones experiences re: leaking or not leaking.
Has anyone got a CC that doesn’t leak?
I agree with others, its a fantastic car, but if it leaks and they can’t fix it then its not worth anywhere near £20k - resale values are going to plummet if this isn’t resolved beyond doubt.
June 26th, 2007 at 10:50 am
ORDERED OURS ON 20/5/07.OURS HAD BEEN PREORDERED BY THE DEALERSHIP BUT WAS A COLOUR AND SPEC THAT WE WANTED. CAR HAS BEEN REGISTERED SINCE 31/5/07 AND WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD HAVE IN 2 WKS I.E FIRST WEEK IN JUNE. HAVENT SEEN IT YET. DEALERSHIP NO HELP, FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS USELESS. COMPLAINED SO MUCH THAT SOME WOMAN CALLED NORMA JACOBSON, APPARENTLY A ZONE MANAGER FOR FORD MOTORS CALLED ME ON 25/6 TO SAY SHE COULD’T SAY WHEN THE PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED AND DON’T BLAME THE DEALER IT’S NOT THEIR FAULT, THAT WAS VERY HEPLFULL WASN’T IT? ASKED HER WHAT WAS ON OFFER FROM FORD TO PERSUADE US TO STICK WITH THE ORDER. ANSWER WAS ‘NOTHING THAT I KNOW OF’ AGAIN VERY HELPFUL. THINK WE WILL BE CANCELLING
June 26th, 2007 at 10:54 am

June 26th, 2007 at 3:39 pm
Ordered in Feb, del in May, then June, then July, then maybe end of august, but defintley not guaranteed. So have cancelled the order!!! it would have been the first Ford I would have owned, and I don;t think I am going to give them another chance
June 27th, 2007 at 5:13 pm
Hi all!
I too have had my cc3 on order since 03/02/07 was been told it would be ready for collection by 03/06/07 then week later got a call from the dealer and was told car had been delayed until 30/06/07, week later told car EDD had been put back again to the 30/06/07, then a week later, 7/7/07, then 14/7/07 again another call from the dealer today to advise that delivery date has been put back again and I’m still waiting to be informed of the date its supposedly due to be delivered!!! Was really looking forward to getting this car but now I keep thinking am I ever going to get this car…..is it worth it??!!!! Guess I will have to see what the dealer says tomorrow!!! Thanks for reading… !
June 27th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
Oh my thank god i read the last post!! Ordered my cc3 about 3 weeks ago and dealer said there was probs but wouldnt effect mine but then said would probably have to wait till aug/sept. Lets hope its an indian summer????
June 28th, 2007 at 2:01 pm
Hi,
me again. Just to let you all know, was contacted by Ford customer service. The fix has been approved and the dealers will be issued it in the next seven day and repairs can begin. Maybe have my car back in 3 weeks all being well?
June 28th, 2007 at 3:12 pm
Apparently ‘the fix’ has been ordered for next week per ford customer relations. It is still impossible for them to say however, how long this is going to take. Our car was reg on 31/5/07. So ours is already i month old on paper,we haven’t seen it. Discussed with dealer knock on effect on resale or trade in value and the answer was’I know where you’re coming from but it’s not our problem’. They are offering nothing in the way of compensation and don’t intend to.Tolme to write to Ford they might be more sympathetic. Neither Ford nor the dealership deserve our business and I think cancellation now is the only option left for us. Pity it looked a nice car.
June 28th, 2007 at 8:10 pm
I ordered this car at the end of November 2006 and wanted to be driving one of the first!. I was told there wud be a 12 wk delivery date. Since then it has been ammended 7 0r 8 times and it is really getting very silly….Dont know how I’ve managed to keep my temper! phoned ford customer service who were no help at all and admitted that they dont know how to fix the problems with the roof! HOW HELPFUL. To date I still dont know when I am getting the car and the new registrations will be out at the end of August!!.
June 28th, 2007 at 10:17 pm
I have to say that Ford CRC has been very helpful. People constantly on their back all day giving them hell over this issue but they have always been polite and courteous.
I have been provided a hire vehicle and have had regular calls from their CC team who have advised me as and when they have had any information
The delay in my car is frustrating but id rather wait than have a car that leaks. I think people should stop moaning. I havent asked for compensation, what is with the world today? any chance people get and its compensation this compensation that.
I for one cant wait to get my CC, they are amazing!
dealerhip has been helpful, told me my car is in southampton awaiting release
also a fix has been released as per udate today from the ‘unreliable’ team at customer relations
If you lot are so aggreived then cancel your orders or wait for your car with a bit of self respect and grace
June 29th, 2007 at 11:43 am
*UPDATE*
Recieved a telephone call from Ford Information Service today (29/06/07) to advise me that a “Fix” had been found for the leaky roof. However, still no more information on how much longer I have to wait. I was told they will contact me again when they have more info.
June 29th, 2007 at 12:26 pm
Glad to see some people have managed to get some information out of Ford regarding the leak. I have now rang twice and been referred back to the dealer on both occaisions, despite trying to explain to them that the dealer (who has been very helpful so far, including paying for the service on my existing car)can’t give me a delivery date until Ford tell them when they can start to expect cars to be released. I have just written directly to Ford’s MD.
MR R de Waard,Eagle Way,Brentwood,Essex,CM13 3BW.
Having waited since early January I am now considering cancelling my order and will be looking at both the EOS and Megane CC Sport this weekend
June 29th, 2007 at 7:59 pm
I ordered my cc3 in January and so far have been told 5 different dates. I keep getting fobbed off by Ford head office who tell me the dealer should let me know and they tell me to contact Ford head office so going around in circles.
Have asked for some sort of compensation (something free for instance)! My excisting ford mondeo is well over its service mileage and is supposed to be a part exchange for the CC3. I had no idea that so many others have had the same problems that I have been having!DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT FORD!! LISTEN TO YOUR BUYERS!

My husband just showed me this site and in a way it’s comforting to know I’m not the only one out there with problems, if you know what I mean! I also ordered my CC3 in mid-March. Have had so many delivery dates it’s now a joke. My dealers are actually part of the Ford group and not a franchise and have been very up front about everything. When the first delays set in they offered me full tank of petrol, free delivery to my house (we live 70 miles away from them) and free floor mats (if you ordered a CC3 they are not coming with the mats that were part of the spec!!!) Know that all cars have been called back to Dagenham for roof seals prob and know that when I last spoke no solution had as yet been found. As my old car has now gone they have paid for a hire car (brand new Focus that goes like a rocket!). In a way I’m lucky that I haven’t taken delivery so am not paying for a car I haven’t got. I did sign finance paperwork but they didn’t send it off when found out about delay. I was thinking of VW EOS but really liked the drive of the Focus CC sooo much better than Astra or Megane. Now I’ve got the hire car am happy to wait though I will kick up a real stink if it comes with old plates. Will expect a discount as you would have with any car that has older plates on it even if it is brand new. Shame about missing the summer (what summer though??!!!)

As I write this my husband is out in the pouring rain continuing the refurbishment of our garage ready to house my new Focus CC3 which we ordered two months ago. At that time the salesmen would not commit to an exact delivery schedule, but intimated 6-8 weeks. The garage rebuild has been coordinated to tie in with the delivery - well, that was the plan ! A lot of effort and cost has already been expended, but no new car in sight. Called the salesman last week and he said that my car had been “segmented and is undergoing further quality control checks which will result in some additional delay”. Interestingly, no comment made on what we now know to be a leaking roof problem. He would not comment when asked to give even an anticipated delivery date. We are going to stick with it as our intensive research on cabriolets showed that the CC3 really has ticked all the boxes. Thoroughly agree that the customer service has been deplorable. Apparently all good things come to those that wait, and all good things are worth waiting for. Let’s hope these age old sayings are right !

Like many others I am waiting for a CC3. I pass Dagenham Ford plant everyday and they have around 1000 (estimate) sitting in one of their major compounds. They have what can only be described as a protective material over the roof and our waiting safety checks before they get set to dealers. The worry is on the other side of the compound they have about 100 which do not have any protective material on the roof which means they have been checked - that was in one week!! so I guess I will be waiting a while!!!
Friend has a CC3 and got very wet last bank holiday weekend - gald to hear all we be recalled to be checked. Pleased to hear a fix has been found!
June 30th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
After reading these horror stories, I have just been out to source a possible alternative and to see the dealer.
They confirmed the leakage problem, but apparently, there is a press-release being prepared announcing that Ford have managed to correct the problem and all models produced from now will be to the new specification. Supporting documentation is being prepared for CC technicians to fix the problems in the field.
We still have a scheduled build-date of 9th July and delivery is still due end of July / start of August.
I hope my dealer is not just trying to fob me off.
June 30th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
I like all above am a little dissapointed. I fell in love with the car and bought the demo model just over a week ago but then was told I couldn’t have it, just yet, as there was a stop on the car. I have to say Raj at Plaistow has been nothing more than fare and a pleasure to do business with. However I am surprized there is no clear indication as to when the problem might be solved. Also surprized Ford don’t seem to keep their dealers informed. Anyway I hope the problem is solved soon and I can get my hands on
my new toy. If I remeber correctly some of the best weather last year was in Oct/Nov so hang on in there all and give me a wave when we pass on the road!
June 30th, 2007 at 9:52 pm
It will nearly be the end of summer at this rate. Ordered our CC3 in March and was told Delv in June but No Car nobody even at the dealer knew where it was or when it will arrive . So Rang ford and basically had a go .
I was told that there is a problem which as of the 29 June they had found a fix but would have to wait for parts to be supplied . Ok but why sell a car that doesnt work Ford needed to contact all its customer a give feed back. Customer are Fords bread and butter no customers no Ford. So please ford get in contact with the people who have shown faith in your product and give some feedback . People want their cars for the summer not winter. So come on Ford sort it.

I have already posted about being lucky enough to have receive my CC3 and it’s leaky roof problems etc.Has anybody who also has a CC£ on the road notice the vibration through the clutch pedal?
It’s only minor but i have never noticed it on any other car ive had. I would like to know if it’s a common problem before i stick on my leaky roof and rubbish reversing aid fault list (all of which Ford are going to fix for me).
Thanks
Dave
July 2nd, 2007 at 7:09 am
Yes the fix has arrived according to Ford and Dealer, they have given me a hire car and taken my car,as it was going in part-ex nice hire car, a Ford as you would expect, but have had to pay £70 to get rid of a £250 excess on the hirers insurance,as I do not have this type of excess on my policy I will be expecting Ford to reimburse me this money back,as none of this is my doing,we shall see.
July 2nd, 2007 at 9:35 am
Also just spoken to ford customer relations. Very nice young lady ‘Katy’. She too has assurred me that the FIX is now sorted. However, cannot tell me what the actual FIX is?? or when/how long it will take to reach an individual customer. Has no way of telling me any information about my order at all. So altogether in the voice of Diana Ross [sing] And I’m still waiting…. whoa oh oh oh ooohh! Good luck all.
Just trying to lighten the mood. Maybe ford may give out free umberellas or Goldfish when your car ‘eventually’ arrives, just in case!
July 3rd, 2007 at 6:42 am
Have finally given up & cancelled my order, ordered a Megane CC Privalige instead, pick up in a couple of weeks. Cannot fault the dealer, (Evans Halshaw of Leicester), but Ford don’t deserve our business.
July 3rd, 2007 at 9:25 am
Hi,have also had the call from Ford cc complaints team to say they now have a fix and my car which is stuck at Dagenham will have it’s extensive water tests done there. He says things should move quite quickly now and that it’s up to my dealer to monitor the movements of my car now on their system.I did consider canceling at 1 stage but having read some horror stories about leaks on the Megane and and the fact that as a Ford emloyee i am paying less than 15K for my CC3 i am willing to sit and wait for a car that will hopefully be fantastic value for money and as it is still pooring with rain as i speak i am not exactly missing out on anything just yet !
July 3rd, 2007 at 9:46 am
I cancelled my order today. Ford can not give a any update on my CC3 which was ordered in January, they can not even tell me if it has been manufactured. My dealer has refunded my deposit. I have written to BBC Watchdog, and Auto Express magazine, who may run an article on the problems. I am now looking at a year old Saab 9-3 convertible, at least I can pick it up this weekend!
July 3rd, 2007 at 9:56 am
Hi, I guess this is a little pointless to ask judging by the comments above but can anyone give the number for customer service at Ford. Thank you.
July 3rd, 2007 at 10:26 am
I spoke to the dealer about our cc3 yesterday and he has told me that Ford themselves are taking over the orders for the convertable and are contacting customers on a case by case basis. Maybe just Maybe we might see the car for a few weeks left of the summer but I do have all my fingers crossed. Ford really does need to talk to its customers and maybe it will now. I have also wrote to Topgear Mag and TV show about this
July 3rd, 2007 at 10:43 am
To Mart & Lins, as regards informing TopGear, the ironic thing is that the clincher for me was the report that Clarkson wrote in the Times.
July 3rd, 2007 at 12:09 pm
Collected CC3 mid may (was the showroom model unregistered) had trouble with it from day one what with the leaks and a few other hiccups! Has been back at the dealers now since third week of May, owned the car for 7 weeks and driven it for one! Have been told that a fix date will be released this week!! Fingers crossed??!! Another ford owner that is paying for a car that he has hardly seen. Frankly not good enough!
July 3rd, 2007 at 2:00 pm
CC2 stuck in Dagenham.
To Dave H, you mention the rubbish reversing aid. My car got one, what the promblem ?
July 3rd, 2007 at 4:12 pm
Ford customer service contacted me today to day the fix was ready and to contact my dealer. I spoke to Evans Halshaw and they confirm the tools etc are ready.
My car is booked in for next week to hopefully have the goldfish removed and with a bit of luck they will even valet it!!
I won’t say more as i may be tempting fate.
July 3rd, 2007 at 4:36 pm
Cancelled my order after waiting since 16th Jan with no idea of delivery. Got my Renault Megane Dynamique S yesterday - roof workss perfectly and no leaks!!! A joy. Very disappointed with Ford as had wanted the Focus as had driven a Focus hatchback for the last six years, but not prepared to wait and take the chance of further problems.
July 3rd, 2007 at 8:26 pm
Still waiting for my CC3. Customer Service told me fix is coming soon. If you hang on for the car you can get 3 years free servicing (at least). Problem is Sep 1 the new 57 reg cars come out. Is it worth having an 07 car for just a few weeks ? Also in Dec a new Focus coupe is coming out so I here, although it’s not a cc. How long before the current model is replaced ?
July 3rd, 2007 at 10:42 pm
I orderd my CC2 in January 2oo7 i was one of the first to order and told me i would get it by april again still not got car or any further news to say if and when i will receive it . not very happy at all with ford .worried about depreecation of vechicle if i receive before the 57 reg comes out as the car will not be worth what i am paying for it .
July 4th, 2007 at 10:32 am
I ordered my cc3 with the lux pack in nov 06 waited 8 months for it i received the car on the 12/june 07 without the lux pack i had it one day and there was a leak through the roof and the whole back interior got drenched. I was later informed production had stopped on the 5/june 07 i should of never received the car. My experience with Fords customer service have been diabolical there is no half way mark with them its all on there terms. They will not replace the cc3 for a new cc3 with the lux pack as i had originally ordered i have spent hours on the phone to them trying to get support as they rarely return your phone calls. When you do get in contact with them they give you conflict information and make you feel like you are a inconvenience. They treat you like the opposition NOT the customer. They have giving me a hire car of a basic focus but still expect me to make full payments for my cc3 until further notice i feel like they have ripped me off.I payed £20,000 for this car and came to terms with the fault but what i can not come to terms is the way fords customer treat you its not worth the stress.Pull out if you can !

Hi CC Lovers. I must admit I am very mixed with my views on the New Ford CC car and can take on everyones anguish in one way or another. I live in the North/East Scotland and have a Megane CC (which I love.) I heard a lot of things about this new Ford CC which I took a right fancy for just like all of you. I had tried to see the car, physically to compare against the Megane (I have to young children 9 & 8) and needed to see that they would fit in comfortablly. I finally got to see the car at the end of May and was told that I won’t get the new car until Aug/Sept. I was in no hurry, but they pushed and pushed for a deal and finally ofered me the showroom car and could pick it up a week later (with them knowing about the problems.) Like most of you a took ownership a week later and again like most of you Loved it. I did alot a comparing against the Megane to which I had a few pointers to Ford. One of them was the state of the rubber seal when the roof was closed. AND like most of you the worst happened, the roof leaked within the week. I had been told by the dealership that Ford where in confrontation with Pinifatina (as its there design,) but also told that they had refered to ford to use a specific seal on the car but choose to use their own (Cheaper no doubt.) The car has been sitting in the Ford Dealership since 7 weeks later and I have just been told that they have a fix, but have no indication the time scale involved. I do however think that we should contact Watchdog on this issue for a couple of reasons. We all should be compensated in some way for this, after all this is a BRAND new design and we are the ones that are road testing the car for FORD. Although we don’t want bad press on the car we have bought and we are taken alot of stick from those we work with, but it will be the only way we could be big enough to get to Ford. Sorry for going on but I have very mixed feelings and with a suitable compensation and a total fix on the car, I’m sure we will all still feel the same way towards the car. Be patient! I would have rather not taken ownership of the car with the problems and driving around in the Megane CC, rather than waiting for delivery in the expected perfect condition.

The telephone number I have been using for “Ford Customer Care” is:
0845 841 1111
July 4th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
message to those who think we are too aggrieved and should wait for our car with good grace! FRANKLY I THINK 8 MONTHS IS GOOD GRACE! you have not been waiting for your car as long as i have. I appreciate that there can be teething problems, I currently have a 51 plate peugeout 206 coupe cab and waited 6 months for that to be built, the difference being, I knew it was a 6 month delivery date. I was assured by my dealer no more than 12 wks. In the meanwhile I,ve had to tax my car again for 6 months with the delay and also put 2 new tyres on. And my direct dealing with ford customer service has been very unhelpful. As you may have been lucky, well done you………..sarcactic patronising comments I can do without.Dont judge people you dont know certainly not their exact cirumstances.
July 4th, 2007 at 9:43 pm
Also with regards to customer service they are paid to do a job and if a 100 people a day phone up to enquire why 8 months later they do not have their £20,000 pound car………..is that unreasonable?. I love the car and I want it otherwise I wud have walked but wudnt it be nice just to be told whats going on. We are all in thr same boat and just sharing our experiences and trying to understand where we are and when we might get out cars, is that so wrong?
July 5th, 2007 at 6:48 am
Hi Julia, i too am trying my best to be as patiant as poss having waited since Jan 1st and can now see light at the end of the tunnel hopefully! Both my dealer and Ford customer service assure me that things are now moving forward.I have seen 2 cc’s in the last 2 days, the 1st 1 a saw i stopped and had a chat to the owner who said it’s the most fantastic car he has ever had, ordered it last October and got it a month a go and has no leaks whatsoever, the 2nd was in a car wash with jets of water all over it ( very brave person ) regarding your old car you can surrender your tax disc for a refund and i have just got Ford to pay for 2 rear tyres on my px car so may be worth a go ! N.B. a note to all of you that are canceling, keep it up as it will make my car even more exclusive and hopefully go up in value as and when i finally get it cheers !
July 5th, 2007 at 6:49 am
A point I did miss out that we need to make sure that we get to know what the fix intails as we don’t want to have a unique car. As the car has been manufactured (off the production line) the fix may only be for our cars that are in this situation. Meaning that the production car get made with the changes. This would highlight to all that all the 2007 registered cars are a bad batch and would subsequently affect the depresiation on the cars. JULIA and others, I guess that you all that are in the same waiting time 6 months plus have been keeping notes to reflect conversations made with customer services and dealers? I would propose that we all start to do the same so we can start to put it down in paper o Ford, Watchdog and the like. Please don’t get personnel with us as we are all expressing our own situations, it not a conspiracy, were not out to get you. Just here for you to talk to and listen to.

July 5th, 2007 at 7:57 am
has anyone been offered any compensation ?
July 5th, 2007 at 8:49 am
Ford Customer service tell me they are offering comp on a case by case basis. They obviously do not want to set a precedent. I imagine the longer the delay the more you will get, as long as you ask, if you don’t ask you won’t get. Try getting a hire car from them until your cc arrives, I have heard they will do that. I also hear that 3 years free servicing is being offered. Has anyone actually been offered anything ?
July 5th, 2007 at 9:03 am
JUST BEWARE !!!
I got frustrated with my case handler as he rarley returned my calls he was also giving me conflict information they allocated me a new one, Unfortunately once you get frustrated with one case handler you upset them all and now i feel like they don’t want to know !!
Has anyone had good customer service ? if so can i have there name of the case handler please !
July 5th, 2007 at 9:22 am
Ford Customer Relationship Centre
PO Box 4430

Does any one have a different address than this one. i need someone to take my complaint seriously.
July 5th, 2007 at 10:10 am
My dealers Gates of Waltham Cross have been good, and also told me that there is a possibility of the 3years free servicing,so stick out for that at least.
July 5th, 2007 at 10:30 am
My Dealers have been helpful also. They too are aware of the possibility of 3 years free servicing! Please can someone post a comment as soon as you take delivery of your vehicle to tell us all something more positive! Whoever went through the car wash, as pointed out by Noz, are you on this forum and how did it cope??? Also Noz did you say less than 15k for a CC3. I’m a ford privalige customer and I’m being offer nothing like that terms of discount. Am I being ripped off??
July 5th, 2007 at 10:34 am
that had a great offer with privalige but as far as i know you had to order your car b4 nov 06 if different please let me know ! at the moment they are giving privalige customers £1000 off so at least make sure you get this !
July 5th, 2007 at 10:47 am
Hi Lorraine thanks for getting back so quickly. Yeah I got my £1000 off with guaranteed free Lux pack. They have honoured the amount offered for my part ex in March regardless of how long it takes for dleivery, so I’m quite pleased with that. Dealer just told me mines is in build as we speak. They are expecting it mid Aug & that I should receive it shortly after the 1st Sept, thus on a new 57 plate! So all in all if they honour the 3yrs free servicing too then… Happy days!
July 5th, 2007 at 11:17 am
Just spoke to Ford customer care department for the first time. Or should I say ‘Customer couldn’t careless department’.
Fords have a car tracking system call vista, this tells them and the dealerships where a car is and at what stage of production. Fords have frozen this system for the CC’s, therefore the dealerships cannot tell you where your car is. I asked to speak to someone regarding this, and I suppose like everyone else I was told to speak to the dealership. The attitude of the person was really couldn’t careless, ‘we don’t sell you cars the dealership does, so go speak to them’.
Is this the normal response?
July 5th, 2007 at 2:39 pm
For Lorraine.
My contact in Fords customer service is PAV. I have been genuine with him and he has phoned and returned call without prompting and has kept me informed of progress.
Compensation has been mentioned but not agreed yet, i like the idea of the 3 yrs free servicing and will mention it too him. As i said previous, my car is due in next week for the fix so i will let you know how it copes.
I jet washed my car when i first got it, but only the once. When i’d finished, the inside looked like the after shock from a Tiswaz foam party.
July 5th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Well i have had my cc3 on order since february took delivery early june and leaked 2 weeks later
while i have had a lack of information since ford have set up a “cc team” things have been good.
i have been called every week, and if i call and cant speak to anyone ill get a call back pretty quick but not always same day admitedly
i am in a hire car while my car is in the garage, the “fix is now available” and my car is being done on tuesday.
so far for hire vehicles i have had 2 s-max’s, a mondeo ST, and a BMW 3 series convertable as they couldnt find me a suitable ford, i am still in the BMW but my focus is better!
I know there is 4 people dedicated to this problem all of pretty high authority apparently, 2 ladies 2 gentlemen. i have dealt with a steff, chris, and pav/paff all been great, it is mostly chris i deal with and he has been great. i asked for compensation and have been told he will look at it once he has my vehicle back and repaired.
i just hope my car is fine now as i dont like the old fabric roof on the BMW chris aranged for me
July 5th, 2007 at 2:50 pm
Yes Gary I’m afraid this is the normal response from the focus cc team I have been hitting my head off a brick wall since the 12th of June. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. There is no compassion no sympathy they act like they don’t give a dam!! Even though it’s custom that keeps them in a job! They treat us like the opposition and even as ridiculous as it sounds the ENEMY!!. When you try and complain about the focus cc team it just goes around in one vicious circle. It got to the point where I addressed a letter of complaint to roelant de waard and bob blenkinsop who are directing managers of fords it never reached them it went straight to the focus cc team they told me they received the letter and it would go no higher and in so many words nothing would be done about the complaint either. Fords new about the fault on these cars but the still sold the vehicles they new the summer was coming and they new sales would rocket!!!!! They have our money now and that’s all that matters to them.
July 5th, 2007 at 3:01 pm
Thanks Dave for your response!! Yes pav was mine to !! but unfortunate I never received the service you have from him. I have been pretty demanding but at the end of the day they should be qualified to deal with demanding customers especially when they are spending 20k !! !But good luck!!! Let me know if you get yours back next week!
July 5th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
I am dealing with a chap called Pav at customer care who rings me at least once a week with an update. He basicaly has done all the link work between me and my dealer keeping us both up to speed but like Gary just said now things are moving it is up to the dealer to track your cars movements on that VISTA thing ! You need to be a bit pushy and cheeky with these people but never nasty as it will get you nowhere trust me i having been dealing with Ford for about 15 years and had 20 brand new cars off them so i know what i am on about.3 years servicing is the minimum to expect, they are treating each case on merrit but just be sensible with your requests and have reasons to back you up! you may want to start with a snorkel and mask ha ha.if you ordered your car before the Jan market programme came out you would have got the full discount, the new programme was not so good giving you just a grand off but free leather and i think lux pack.Am part exing a 1year old fiesta ST and handing over 5K, a fab deal and my part ex value will be honoured from the original valuation in January.I live in the midlands but have found a fantastic dealer in the Lancashire area so if anyone out there needs help let me know and i will put up his address.
July 5th, 2007 at 3:46 pm
noz what was the full disount b4 jan ?
July 5th, 2007 at 4:13 pm
After my wife going into our dealership with no real answer i e-mailed our local ford and had a phone callfor a Tony Hall to explain the situation as it stands . Here goes
They knew form the end of April that the car had faults and the dealerships were instructed to contact their customer(ours never)
The good news is the problems will the roof seals are to be fixed either at your dealership or at Dagenham. Some of the cc3 are in transit on a boat and they are not sure of arrival but Tony Hall has promise to phone to keep me updated. I let me feelings know to him how bad they teated us as their customer service is not up to scratch. Some of the later cars to be made have had the fault fixed at the factory hopefully our car at the latest will be mid august
July 5th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
Lorraine the discount was about 3k on a cc3 on the Ford privilege. My dealer somehow done me a cc3 for the price of a cc2 ( petrol )
July 5th, 2007 at 7:19 pm
I have been told by ford that to fix the problem they need to wait for a special tool. I’m abit concernd about this. Do they need to modify the the roof or just the frame? Dave or has anyone been told any details on the fix. I have also been told that ford have mentioned the 3 year servicing so we should stick out for that at least. I origanlly came on to this web site to read the review from Clarkson on the CC3, has anyone contacted and had a responce from TOPGEAR…..? Keep Smilling All :-)
July 5th, 2007 at 9:37 pm
Can someone please verify what the situation is with a couple of things. Our CC as been on order since the 2nd of April. What we are worried about is where all these cars with leaking roofs have been stored. Have they all been under cover? If VISTA isn’t working for CCs how will our dealers be able to keep track of our cars?
Anyone had a response from Fords MD?
July 5th, 2007 at 10:12 pm
Thanks Noz and Kevin for your response, I spoke to my dealer again today after reading some positive responses on this forum and was told that there are hundreds of focus ccs being held and that it would still be a while before i get my car….. It was suggested that she who shouts loudest might get her car!!! The only saving grace for us all i suppose is that we have no summer at the moment only RAIN. I too wonder what will happen with regards to the 57 plate as 8 wks ago I was given my reg no and chassis no? With things going on as long as they are I too ideally would like a 57 plate but whats the chances of that, otherwise they will have a glut of 07 plates i guess. Still feeling exasperated by our situation, Have thought of cancelling and getting something else but when you have waited 8 months for your car it seems pointless to bow out now. Most frustrating is simply no one keeping us updated. Have been told today I will get another phonecall in a week with the latest update. THIS IS TEDIOUS.
July 6th, 2007 at 6:54 am
I have actually received the registration doc for our car, the dealer registered the car on 31 May to boost their monthly sales figures. I have made it clear to the dealer and to the ‘couldn’t care less team ‘ at Ford that under no circumsatnces will I still take this car at the same price. It is already a ‘used’ car and the future resale and trade in value has already been affected. I have been told by the dealer that we will definitely receive 2 years extra free servicing and 2 years extra RAC membership courtesy of Ford. I’m afaid that still would not clinch the sale for me. I have managed to speak to my dealers Zone Manager from Ford who has assured me that these problems are being addressed at the highest level at Ford and that I will hear something soon. I have this lady’s phone no. and will call her again in the next few days if I don’t get any situation updates from the idiots in Coventry. There is absolutely no way that we will take this car at the previously agreed price when the 57 plate is drawing closer. This is a real pity because like most of you we really liked the cc3 but not that much that we are going to throw our money away.
July 6th, 2007 at 7:28 am
Can someone tell what Ford Privilege is? I would like a discount as well. I’ve had 1 Escort, 1 Mondeo, 3 Fiestas and 2 Focus - does that qualify me?
I agree with someone’s comment that we should all report back when we eventually get our new cars. I’m still hoping that it will be worth the wait.
July 6th, 2007 at 7:56 am
Well my car is also registered and i took this up in a very lengthy discusion with ford, as in motor company not the dealership and they along with a family member in the trade that it isnt actually fords fault that the vehicle has been registered!
it is the dealerships fault for trying to get the sales in on time, the sale goes by registered date which is why the dodgy dealer may of registered your car even thou it is not in the country,
ford are just as p***** off about the dealers doing this as me in my case, however i was given the impresion htere is nothing ford can do and its something the dealership should take responsibility for.
anyway few more days to go and no more BMW
July 6th, 2007 at 9:33 am
In response to Brian Newmarch.
Ford Privilege is a discount scheme offered to people who work for Ford or who have direct family working for Ford. It used to be a fabulous scheme offering sometimes upto 20%-30% dicount, but they changed it around in Jnauary and it’s not so good now. Really mad I didn’t get my order in before Dec06 like Noz. Aaah well some you win….

I have just been on the phone to the Ford Costumer Care to get an update. They had not told me anything new, but I did press them on the fix associated with the CC. Apparently they DO need to modify the roof to bed into the seals, not the other way round that some people had heard. ALSO this will only be associated with the cars that are released now, so all the 07 registered cars (along with the ones sitting in Southampton) will be classed as “A bad batch.” I’m concearned that this will have an impact to the depresiation on the car. So I would recommend that we get something agreed with Ford (via the dealership) on the Garanteed Market Value. Dave, please let us know when your’s get done and the let us know the time scale? Cheers
July 6th, 2007 at 1:08 pm
what a load of rubbish kevin watson,
i have seen the TSB as they call it as my dealer showed me it to reassure me of what the issue is,
theres simply some revised rubber seals, and detailed information on how the roof, and windows should be set to give the perfect fit,. so it is just the seals and settings of the windows.
And every vehicle is just required to go through better checks, IF the vehicle leaks it has to have the work done, thats on every vehicle new and old!
there is no bad batch, just ones that are having work done out of factory, and ones after the update which are being done in factory,
its scaremongerers like you that would get customers like me panicking and resorting to valium
July 6th, 2007 at 1:21 pm
Phillp, I can re-assure you that scaremongering is not my intention but seeking the truth and not buring my head in the sand. There is a problem and with it being a new design justifies the trueness it (we)deserve. If thats all the solution is, WHY are we not being told this? I am only passing on information that I have reveived from the so called Horses Mouth. I do find it re-assuring from people like yourself who have inside information to keep us all on the ground, but I do take offense to you labelling me when you dont even know me. As this is the case I would appreciate if you would keep to the facts, as this is a bonus to everyone.
DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER.
July 6th, 2007 at 2:02 pm
I am an ex Ford engineer who still has contacts within the company.
I am also good friends with a Zone Manager and a member of vehicle development and have discussed these issues with them as I have ordered a Focus CC3 in January.
Points to make
*Why have people sold their old vehicles knowing new ones have not got a ETA?… the E stands for estimated not exact
*Vehicles registered early are not down to Ford Motor Company - this is down to salespeople trying to hit monthly targets
*Vehicle Hire is not an obligation and no motor company has to provide this or to keep people in cars while their new ones arrive…. if you order new trainers and your old ones are a bit battered, you wont get courtesy trainers while the new ones arrive
*Ford is not the only manufacturer who has had cabby issues… check the vauxhall, VW and the renault and you will be enlightened
*The company making roof for this car is the same as most other manufacturers
I have not kicked up a fuss and whilst I am upset its taking so long, i think the response from Ford has been good on this issue.
I have spoken to the focus CC team at cust rel. and they seemed genuinely concerned and showed understanding over my issue with how long the car has taken to arrive… this cant be the same team some of the previous comments have been about???
I allowed them time to investigate my order and gather information and they responded with information which backed up what i have uncovered myself.
I was alarmed reading people have been getting misinformation as I worked for the company for so long and couldnt believe some of the stuff i have read which I know believe to be un-substanciated.
This CC is a absolute delight to drive and the manufacturer has done all it can at this moment to mimimise the delays
Ford hired the best company about to produce this roof but have been let down and have done their best to get the issue addressed asap.
I dont think 6/7 months is acceptable but I for one am not going to cancel and will allow them the opportunity to deliver me the vehicle to the standard I and Ford demand.
Well done Ford… dont let me down and keep up the hard work!
July 6th, 2007 at 4:12 pm
I am being passed from customer service back to dealer and back again. Both tell me it’s down to the other to help me. I have just been informed now that my car is due to be built on July 28th when I should have had it last week. At least it should then have the ‘fix’ already built in by then and it won’t be sitting around in a yard.
July 6th, 2007 at 4:33 pm
I have a copy of the fix that my friend who works at Fords has printed out for me. It is 20 pages long, and goes into detial of the areas to check, reads as follows:-
Isolated instances of the following causes of possible water ingress points in the interior/luggage compartment have been identified:
A. Water entering the interior via the door window glass due to an misalignment of the exterior mirror sealant.
B. Water drops from the header rail weatherstrip / convertible top front panel side weatherstrip into the interior.
C. Water drops/runlet from the C-pillar weatherstrip onto the side trim panel.
D. Water ingress into the luggage compartment via the convertible top rear panel lower weatherstrip.
E. Water ingress into the licence plate lights and into the luggage compartment via the rear lamps/stop lamp.
A new type of split sealing has been developed for convertible top front panel side weatherstrip and C-pillar weatherstrip. If necessary both sealings on the affected side must be renewed.
The special tool that someone mentioned above is just a tool to hold the roof in the open position while working on the roof.
I have every confidence that the problem will be sorted, and hope to get my CC3 soon, was ordered in Jan 07.
Cheers,
Dave Hunt
July 6th, 2007 at 5:04 pm
Cheers for that Dave.Your mate is a star and will buy you both a pint 1 of these days for hopefully putting all our minds at rest and stop any ” in fighting ” between Phill & Kev !
July 6th, 2007 at 5:09 pm
why are some people attacking other people over finite details, Kevin. presumably would not have entered his information onto the forum if it were not correct. Philip it seems that you john and myself and many others have all been told a variety of stories for the delay. And at the end of the day if Ford were to release a proper statement of explanation and tell us when we were able to get our cars we all wouldnt be so frustrated. This forum has been the most productive and informative tool that i have come across…if not for it then i would be further in the dark. Its only from here that i was even aware of the “fix” so thanks to everyone who has inputed their knowledge.
July 6th, 2007 at 5:24 pm
noz talks sense!
July 6th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
I too have been waiting since april for my cc3, with still no date of delivery, but would like to thank everybody else for there information as without this forum I would have no idea as to why it has taken so long. I have spoken to somebody today who purchased the showroom model back in April, and has no leaking problems,(even with all this RAIN).She LOVE’S it but the windows would not fully close when the roof was opened,(when she picked it up), and there’s a knocking noice from the boot area when the roof is up (which is most of the time). This tells me it’s not the most reliable car, but neither is the toyota yaris I’m part exchanging.I can still pull out at any time and receive full deposit refund, but I’ll wait to see how everyone else gets on.
July 6th, 2007 at 7:07 pm
the really funny thing is everyones moaning they just want to be told what’s going on………and grateful for daves post. but you were told all this by the cc team, who have said from the start theres an issue with the seals and are waiting for the new ones to be tested, made then released, followed with exact details on how to fix it, do all you moaners remember being told this weeks ago?
howevr u have waited till a seemingly random person on a public message board tells you the same before it begins to sink in.
I know 5 people who got their cars back and fixed today, ford put customers who actually own the vehicles as a priority which I think was a good call
July 8th, 2007 at 3:53 pm
My car has been standing at garage for the last 5 weeks covered in plastic, contacted by garage yesterday to say that Ford has released the cars and I can have the car without the fix and return when they are ready to do the fix. We will see what Tuesday brings
July 8th, 2007 at 6:42 pm
Yesterday i phoned my dealer and asked about the 3 yearfree servicing. they said they would look into it. Today they phoned me back and said they could not do this as the dealership could not afford to.Also it would only apply to people who have already got their cars and NOT the people waiting for them to arrive if it were to be done.has any body who is waiting been offered any thing
July 8th, 2007 at 7:04 pm
Tracey, you need to call Ford customer service and complain to them. I think it is Ford who are offering the compensation not the dealer. I was told I would be offered something but they (customer service) would not tell me exactly what.
July 8th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
I have been assured by my dealer they will honour the part ex price on my trade in BUT I see that the 6.9% finance deal (Ford Credit) is no longer available on the CC. Does anyone know if Ford Credit is honouring this deal for cars ordered MONTHS before the deal was ended? If not it means my monthly payment will be a LOT more than originally quoted.
July 9th, 2007 at 7:47 am
I GOT MY CAR BACK ON FRIDAY !!!!!!THEY ALSO CAN NOT GUARANTEE THE ROOF WILL NOT LEAK AGAIN ???? NOT VERY GOOD! IT HAS NOT RAINED HERE YET SO FINGERS CROSSED IT IS A BEAUTIFUL CAR LETS HOPE ITS WORTH IT… ALSO MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR 3 YEARS SERVICE GUYS X
July 9th, 2007 at 8:04 am
Hi Lorraine. Have you had the fix carried out on your car? AND they still have said they can not Guarantee the solotion? Get the hosepipe on it ASAP. PLEASE let us know.
Tracey, the dealership will only bill ford direct for the services, so I would keep at them.
Julia, THANKS xxx
July 9th, 2007 at 8:37 am
Hi Kevin i cant believe the comments made from Phillip Reynolds it was real un fair, if anything its fords that would drive you to take valium i have had many sleepless nights due to the way the focus cc3 team has treated me. i think he was one of few that has been treated like a customer when most of us have been treated like the opposition, And yes mate not a prob i will give you an update once it rains.
July 9th, 2007 at 9:20 am
Lorraine or perhaps you should change your name to lotarain. hope your car is now ok, mine is being done tomorrow.
did they tidy the whole car up? or leave all of the mess?
also for the record they wont guarantee the roof will not leak.
in the same way no motor manafacturer in the world will guarantee that any part of a vehicle will not fail,
This is why they provide a warranty however.
lorraine hope your fix is permanent and so is mine and everyone elses
July 9th, 2007 at 10:03 am
Phillip, considering i only had my car for 1 day there wasn’t much to valet, yes they cleaned up the water, when i left my car with fords there was 30 miles on the clock when i got my car back there was 160 miles on the clock , there answer for this was that they drove the car to Daventry Northants and back to be fixed i was also unhappy to find that there is pen mark on the interior near the roof. but don’t get me wrong i’m happy to have my baby back.
July 9th, 2007 at 11:57 am
John..phoned customer care, they said ford was offering nothing at all,and it was down to the dealer, buti would have thought 1 free service would not have been beyond them.
July 9th, 2007 at 12:17 pm
i do know that the main people ford are trying to give free stuff too are people who have actually had the car and had a problem.
as customers whos vehicles have been delayed have never had the problem as such,
and as they atate to me it is down to the dealership to give realistic delivery times and handle the expectations etc.
ie: you put your house on the market to sell working to the scheduel of the person whos house you are buying and plan on moving into.
you wouldnt then go ahead and sell your vehicle even though the house you are buying still cannot say when you can have it due to delays, then sell yours knowing this and expect them to rent you a house to live in until you can move in, and then want compensation on top of that for the delay would you?
July 9th, 2007 at 12:58 pm
Hi,
Am thinking of buying the CC-3. What are your reviews on the car so far? Yes or no?? And is it really cool!? The pictures I feel probably won’t do it justice.
Thanks
July 9th, 2007 at 1:26 pm
I do welcome the comments made from Paris and Phillip. Very informative and at least trying to keep things in prospective. It is however frustrating in the least that Ford havn’t issued a letter or statement to there customers regarding the car, no matter if you’ve spoken to CC team or not. There is a lack of information from both the dealerships and Fords, this is how come this website has become a important source of information. I for one would like to the ford CC team comment on this site. We are ALL trying to make the best of bad situation.
July 9th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
Gary, it would have been good if some kind of letter was sent to customers but manufacturers only really do this when Recalls are issued on vehicles.
To be fair, information has been available.
At least 6-7 weeks ago Ford informed dealers that there was an issue with the seals and a resolution to this was being worked on… its very rare a manufacturer would give full details of such concerns but at least they did own up to the fact there was a problem and it was being looked at.
Good to hear positive news from Lorraine re the fix on her vehicle… lets hope you all have good results and I get my car soon
Also, Gary, having worked for Ford in the past - I dont think they would put anything up on a web forum
July 9th, 2007 at 6:00 pm
Well the thing go’s on . Spoke to dealer and he knows nothing on where the car is . Was told by Ford Today that they are releaseing no Ford CC’s.
Lets all just sit back and think now. We all wont the cars, We are really prepaired to with what ever length of time it takes. The main issue is the leak , none of use wont a car that leaks in the rain or when we wash it. So I think we need to give Ford time to sort this. There is a problem and they know it. They will loose millions if this isnt fixed mony and good will. I hope Ford UK or Ford USA see these comments . So everybody here needs to give them time if you have waited 6 months like us a couple more isnt going to matter. The summer has been rubbish so far anyway.
After all the above I am still not happy with te way we have all been treated . Communication would have stopped alot of these comments. So please somebody at Ford tell people the true story if it takes another 6 months then tell them. The dealers are no use as they only sell the product they have no control over making it . So Ford need to speak to their customers .
July 9th, 2007 at 7:57 pm
this forum in my oppinion is useless1
why? everyones complained about no information, and how ford are doing nothing hiwever when someone posts exactly what ford crc have tried to tell me from the start they thank them for the news,
im confused, when its said on here its gospel, when the same thing I said by the cc team its ignored or slated at for having no information.
to make it clear as I for 1 am happy with ford, I was told directly on 1st call to ford that I cannot have my car as it is stopped at wherever its last position was so they can check the vehicle over.
the issue I asked? there has been some occasions where the roof seals have not performed to fords standards, rather than possibly create more upset customers they put a hold on everythinguntil they are happy with the seals,
they are testing new seals, which if fine would then need to be manafactured, delivered to dealers and then detailed instructions on how to fix the roof and make sure it is right 1st time.
now I don’t know how much more honest a company could be or infact the cc team.
everything they have said has been right.
they’ve kept me mobile I ask no more, I wouldn’t care if they put me in a ka, it gets me to where I need to go, my previous car an audi a3 was delayed, I was never given a reason why, I was without a car for 2 months because of it, audi told me straight, we entered a contracts to supply you this car you ordered, not a contract to keep you mobile.
I have been assured personally by chris and phav on different occasions that while they cannot give me a timescale the more they know based on the finalising of the fix the more ill know, and they have convinced me that despite the big company ford are myself and the other small amount of customers effected are important.
on a bad note I was told by my dealer today that they made a mistake and obviosly I should not of been given a non ford hire vehicle and they need it back, apparently they just wanted me to have some wheels and the rental companies had no fords, apparently ford do not contact the hire companies and never actually know what car we get or from where as they just pay the dealers, so the dealer is now scared if they gave me a non ford that ford won’t pay them. ford are on to them based on a complaint the cc team has taken seriosuly from one of their priority customers. ill be speaking to them tomorrow and hopefuly collecting my car in perfect dry condition
July 9th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
I have had my CC2 on order since October 2006. I have never been given a delivery date. I was told the the UK launch had been delayed to January 2007. I have enquired every month since March 07 and I still cannot get a delivery date or any confirmation of the vehicle being in the production line.
Whilst I have ordered as a personal lease rather than purchase, this is one reason my local dealer Hendy Ford have said why I cannot get a delivery date. To quote the sales rep “I should have ordered one as a private customer!”, not a very helpful response. I’ve given up speaking to the Ford dealer.
So its now 9th July 2007, 9 months on….. - more chance of flying to the moon in Harry Potter’s Ford Anglia than seeing my CC2!
July 10th, 2007 at 8:15 am
Phillip i thought it was chris from the focus cc team that arranged your hire car 2 s max’s, a mondeo ST, oh yeah and your bmw series 3 he does not work for the delears he works for fords customer service and apparently he is in pretty high authority ?
July 10th, 2007 at 9:12 am
I have just been on the phone to the Ford Workshop were my car is being held, to find out if there had been a date for the fix. I UNFORTUNATLY live in the North/East of Scotland (I defo need the roof fixed) and the latest they tell me is that, they have a fix but there is a problem with the parts on who is supplying the seal Ford or Pinifatina, ALSO the work has to be caried out be specialised (Ford) trained personnel which there are none here and it is a 2 day course (the next course dates has been scheduled for October.) The other option is for the car to be sent down south for the work to be carried out. So it looks like it will be a longer wait for me to get my car back. You all that have been waiting months, might get your’s before me after all. KEEP SMILING ;-)
July 10th, 2007 at 9:58 am
good morning all
well my car cannot be fixed as yet because a “shim” has not come!
re the fix:
the dealerships have had since october to attend the training course or something like that so its dependant on your dealer if he has bothered to do the course, however ford send other teams up in these cases.
the new delay is very annoying!
however news i got and in response to kevin is that the fix “tsb” clearly says about where the parts come from, theyre ordered from the roof company in italy who send it to the dealer. when everythings all sorted if anyone needs a seal again they will be ordered from ford who by then would have built up stock as normal.
Re focus cc team and courtesy vehicles:
lorraine: yes chris is the main person i deal with,
he told me straight, until he can update me further he will keep me mobile. would i like a fiesta focus c-max mondeo s-max.
i wanted a mondeo and he said he will get the dealership to locate a vehicle, after that it was the dealership who arranged all of that, the 1st vehicle had a problem, so the hire company and the dealers located me another, and all that was out of the hands of ford.
an update also that the dealership are in trouble for putting myself and others in non ford cars so dealership have had to put me into a fiesta until their hire place has a better vehicle for me.
July 10th, 2007 at 10:16 am
I c then its not the dealer that authorised your hire car it was chis form the focus cc team and for some reason he has changed his mind about letting you have a high spec car not very good as you are still making monthly payments for this focus cc3 or even paid for it, and as you said b4 even the bmw convertible is not as nice as the focus cc3 and now they are offering you a basic ford, which is half the price of your focus cc3 just hope they get your car fixed soon mate x
July 10th, 2007 at 10:35 am
He did the same to me then blammed the dealership its them that authorised it and as you said b4 i just hope my car is fine now as i dont like the old fabric roof on the BMW chris aranged for me !! dont let them fool you !!
July 10th, 2007 at 10:39 am
Just to clear stuff up for people, things seem to be getting confused on here
If Ford Customer relations or any other department from Ford approve for a customer to have a courtesy car, they give the dealership the go ahead to do this.
It is the dealership who arranges the specific vehicle not Ford so the car you get is due to the dealership and hire company not Ford.
I cant comment on what Chris has or hasnt done as I dont know him but what I can say is that from my experience, customer relation department would only call the dealer and ask them to arrange a hire car and it is the dealers responsibility.
Shame for Phillip though… i wouldnt mind my dealer giving me a BMW!!! even with my contacts in the company I didnt ever get that!
July 10th, 2007 at 12:02 pm
dont be jealous paris it is a sin!
i have been clearly updated by my servicing manager with how my mess with non ford cars came around!
ford motor company/ crc/ cc team simply agree to pay the dealership for lets say 10 days use of a hire car. that is where it ends!
the dealership can now go out and contact whoever that dealership would use to hire a car in their town and pay that company the 10 days.
ford for obvious reasons want their customers being in a ford.
once the 10 days is up the dealership then ask ford for the money they have allready spent at the hire company. ford then send them the money.
All ford motor company want when they agree to paying for a car is that you are kept mobile and in a ford.
As such in my case chris does or rather did not know i was in a bmw, but when he finds out i was he is required to get me out of it immediatly.
so the dealership have told me it was a mistake on their half and in my case not chris or ford cc team.
i assume this procedure is the same with your case lorraine, so chris/cc team are just tidying up mistakes the dealership made and if they ignored this he himself would be in more trouble.
also the “high spec” hire vehicle refers to an equivalent vehicle or a suitable ford vehicle even if this is a larger vehicle.
the usual rules with a garage, insurance or car company paying for a hire vehicle is that you are usually placed into the next model/type down.
in our case we would usually be placed into a fiesta!!! but even this we have no right to!
well atleast im not missing out on any nice weather!
have you had rain yet lorraine?
July 10th, 2007 at 12:15 pm
Paris if you read phillips notes you wil see that he states that chris from fords focus cc team authorised him to get a bmw chris works for fords customer service focuss cc team its them that are paying for the hire cars x
July 10th, 2007 at 12:54 pm
Its not rained here yet phillips fink it is soon though so will let u know, just going back to this hire car business chris did organise you to have a mondeo ST that was good going do you think he will let you get another one ?x
July 10th, 2007 at 1:19 pm
Lorraine. I’m confused. Have you got your car back now or not. Or are you needing the hire car again thus meaning something has gone wrong again. Plus reading comments yesterday someone is claiming Fords are not releasing any more CC’s. I’ve been told that it’s all sorted by my dealer?? Has there been a futher hold up since everyone one has celebrated the fix being sorted? If so i’m not being told the truth. Cannot get through to Ford CC team anymore. What’s the truth? Hope your enjoying your car back if you have got it. Do ya still love it?
July 10th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
Yeh i do have my car back but its not rained yet !! i do luv it its wkd. Its such a looker very posh !! the pics do not do it justice !! its a smooth operator …x lets just c wot happens
July 10th, 2007 at 1:57 pm
Thanks Lorraine
Enjoy and keep us all informed! I’m jealous. But not for too long I hope.
July 10th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
Been thinking about this car and was surprised that they were so thin on the ground. Now I understand why. Think I will stick with VW and a new Golf. Where is the press on this? and what happened when motoring press were raving about it? surely someone must have driven in the rain? Good luck to all those trying to get car/car fixed/ sense out of Ford.
July 10th, 2007 at 8:40 pm
apparently ford have clearly stated that the dealers need to carry out extensive testing before releasing a vehicle, ie if it leaks it shouldnt be given to a customer, so if your dealer says take it and we will fix it when we can do not except and call the cc team
lorraine, you seem to be only reading parts of my posts.
chris simply agreed to keep myself mobile! as in he has agreed on behalf of ford to sign the cheaque! thats it end of!
the dealer then has the sole responsibility now chris has authorised it to supply me a car as per normal ford T’s & C’s that mainly being a ford vehicle from anywhere the dealership can get one from.
so if you happen to be in a remote part of scotland and the only rental place is dodgy daves rentals the dealership will use them, as they know the area,
the cc team have no contact at all with the hire company under any circumstance! is that a bit more clear?
the arrangement with the hire company is between your dealer and them!
ford simply have an agreement with the dealer to pay them.
so chris changing his mind about your cars does not seem to be the truth, more so the poor chap is trying to tidy up their mess before senior accounts find out what the dealership have done and therefore maybe risk the possibility of you having any hire car at all!
i did ask for a mondeo ST but was informed they do not provide high performance vehicles as a like for like unless it was a high performance you purchased
July 11th, 2007 at 7:51 am
Whatever phillip the truth is some customers are getting treated better by the focus cc team then others and you were one of them !! And this is NOT expectable, and i have read your email correctly maybe you need to read over what you have written. Stop blaming the dealers they are the middle people its ford it self that are to blame ok ! And by the way everyone it has rained and so far no leak !! Wahoo x
