Linda I can assure you that they are not ALL fine. Some seem to have been lucky but others are still leaking! Good luck, hope you don't have to chase up for a refund at any point.

My car was pre - reg with on 7 miles on the clock when I first got in and no-one else ever drove the car. My dealer tried thet one on me as well "saying technicaly your car is second hand". This was of course after 2 weeks of owning the car and all the Mr Nice guy had gone.

When I told tradeing standards this they actually laughed out loud and said NO judge will see a pre -reg car as a second hand car with 7 mile's on the clock. Just because it may have been reduced in Price does not mean your rights get reduced.

By the way quick up date. Took car for water test over a month ago and guess what........ FORD SAY THEY NEVER RECEVIDED THE FORMS FROM MY DEALER. They have told me they have been sent 3 times now. I suggested I could walk over from Belfast quicker with them. What a wate of my time (days of work) stress (every time I think of my wet car) and waste of money I just wish this would hurry up. I know it would be slow but come on not this slow surely.

Carole I think it depends on whether the car has leaked in the past as Ford don't like to extend the warranty on the seals past 12 months.....therefore most second hand cars would have leaked (given the stats on this website) and therefore would usually be near to or going on to being a year old by now I would have thought, therefore warranty may not cover a second hand user?

I am the second owner of my car, the warranty
surely goes with the car, not the owner..else no one would buy a second hand nearly new car. I have lost faith with this car and Ford. I would suggest no one buys the cc3..

Chris see post 2096!!!!

Evans Halshaw of Bexley to begin with were as helpful as a chocolate fire guard but when they realised I meant business and wanted a full refund they began to play ball and when they were also fighting my corner I managed a complete refund.

Personally I would not have accepted an exchange as I lost faith in Ford, not just the CC3. You are all entitled to your money back (esp first time owners, not sure about second hand owners??) so I say fight your corner and take them to Court if you need to!! I would love to see someone actually do this and get the buggers to take the stand against all their aggrieved customers!

Good luck with your fix Rachel but I wouldn't hold your breath either!

Has anybody bought their car on a Pre-Reg? My dealer tell me that Ford won't take it back as I am classed as the "Second Owner".

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Also - the dealer tell me that Ford are giving out exchanges when the customer rejects their car through a "loss of faith" - if anyone is stuck trying for their money back maybe if you mention that Ford Evans Halshaw of Blackpool have had some of their customers CC's exchanged/refunded this may help?

As for my CC I wait and pray that it either gets fixed properly this time (booked in provisionally for the 11th -it has already bee cancelled previously so I won't hold my breath) or my dealer will get me a new car.

I brought my car in August summer sale so saved £4,000 , no leaks even in the really bad weather we have been having and it was bad last Sunday. Ford Dagenman Motors at Cobham assured me before buying it that all new models are fine. I am very pleased so far and have enjoyed the odd sunny day with the roof down.

Chris

Since having the replacment vehicle over 6 months it has not leaked. Cwmbran ford have been very good in their customer service and I have been a customer of theirs for around 7 years. Its a great car to drive and I love it, plus the boot space is amazing.

Hi Chris

Yes the odd leak would be almost acceptable but the kind of leaks we have all been getting are more like torrential downpours! My car became a danger to drive in the rain as I was so busy mopping up the water with a towel that I often found myself not concentrating on the road. That was the point that I returned my vehicle at! Please please please please please be very very careful and consider other convertibles above this awful car. The VW Eos apparently also has leaks (not my one though!)but is a far greater all round vehicle. Also the Peugeots are all quite good or if you want a whole different level then the BMW's are the old faithful but I would even put your friend's leaky Megane above this pile of pooh car!! lol

I'm just worried that you will be on here within six weeks asking for assistance on getting your money back!

If you decide to go for it despite all of our advice not to, then you are a braver person than most!!

Good luck!

Hi Vikki & Kathryn,

I have spoken to ford CRC and they have advise me that yes the car is only covered for water ingress for 12 months however if this was caused by a manfacturing fault I.E not wear & tear or damage they it will be covered. I have also been advised that if i pay the deposit to the dealer by Credit Card that also gives me extra cover as the card company takes on dual responsibilbty and if i have any issues i can go to the card company for help and they will fight for the full amount. I am also going to get the dealer to put on the invoice that the car does not leak (if i can) so giving me extra cover.... I can live with the odd drip a friend of mine has a Megan CC and her's leaks infact reading the internet all types of CC seem to leak so it seems if you want this type of car it's somthing you have to except. .... Does this sound like i am trying to talk myself into buying this car haha.. Regards to everyone Chris
