Alloy Wheel Thefts

Posted on February 19, 2007 @ 12:53 pm

Over the last three years, thieves have been targeting cars with alloy wheels in Kenilworth in Warwickshire. The thieves have taken around 120 sets of alloy wheels, some of which had cost nearly £1000. The thieves jack up the cars and remove the wheels – some of the thefts have even been from people’s driveways.

The police are recommending that if your car has alloy wheels, to purchase locking wheel nuts which prevent the wheel from being removed and then store the key to the wheel nuts in a safe place away from the car. McGuard alloy wheel security locking nuts can be purchased from topgear and they come in a variety of sizes depending on the car wheel size.
