New free guide helps drivers battle soaring car costs

Posted on October 30, 2006 @ 2:02 pm

With fuel prices rising and the government planning to hike the burden on motorists’ wallets even further through pay-per-mile road tolls and ’green’ taxes, drivers looking for ways to fight back and keep their car costs down can find support in a new free guide.

Published by motoring advice website KwikGuides.com (www.kwikguides.com), ’How to Cut Your Car Costs’ covers a range of tips from how to be a savvy buyer and avoid cash-sapping depreciation, to saving money when choosing finance, insurance, servicing and fuel. The advice in the guide can cut hundreds - for newer cars, even thousands - from annual car bills.

Whether buying a car or trying to cut the running costs of an existing car, the guide has something for everyone.

Stuart Coster from KwikGuides.com said:

“It’s amazing how much money we all throw away year after year running our cars. This KwikGuide aims to lighten the load on the driver’s over-burdened wallet.

“Misguided or disingenuous politicians persist with ramping up the costs of running a car citing environmental reasons, when most car users have no practical choice. This worse affects hard-working families, for whom a car is an absolutely essential everyday tool that no public transport option can replace.

“Our latest KwikGuide aims to help car users fight back against ever-rising costs and stay on the road, whatever extra bills politicians may throw at them next.”

The site also features a range of other free guides on buying and selling a car, together with features like a summary of useful news for drivers and a ’petrolheads’ shop’ with a hand-picked selection of car-related DVDs, video games and books.

KwikGuides.com aims to become a one-stop-shop for quick yet comprehensive advice on buying, selling and running a car.
